Back . . . again

Wed Apr 22, 2009, 5:45 PM
Long hiatus. Won't bore you with the details, but I've finished the first draft of a new story called "Jessamine" and I need feedback. I love this story, and I'm more than willing to admit that it's definitely written for teenage girls who like to kick butt and win the guy in the end (meaning myself).

If you read a lot of YA books, think "Graceling" mixed with "Goose Girl" and more than a touch of "Crown Duel."

I'd love to get your thoughts and suggestions. And just remember, it is only a first draft, so much will probably change in the future.

  • Mood: Excited
  • Listening to: Si Te Amo, Taxi Amarillo
  • Eating: dinner, finally!
  • Drinking: Gatorade

I may have mentioned this before, but I love the tiny little sprig of green growing through the bricks in your avatar. It's sort of an analogy for small wonders/big faith in the face of adversity. Is that intentional?

You hadn't mentioned it before, but I like the photo even though I hadn't thought of it that way. It's a pic I took while hiking Angel's Landing at Zion National Park, which is the toughest hike I've ever been on. At some parts you are walking along a little ledge with sheer drop-offs on either side of you and only a chain to hold onto for support. So I guess the analogy works both ways since that was definitely a hike filled with adversity and it was a miracle I made it out alive. ;)
